Ann Curry

Ann Curry, an American journalist and photojournalist who has reported on wars and natural disasters for nearly 45 years. Her focus is on the suffering of people who live in these places. Curry has reported from the wars in Kosovo Iraq Syria Lebanon Palestine Afghanistan Darfur Congo and the Central African Republic. Her final graduation was from Ashland high school. In Medford the following year, she began her career in broadcasting at KTVL Channel 10 as an intern. When she was 22 she was the first reporter to be female at KTVL. After that, she moved into the role of anchor and reporter for KGW, the NBC affiliate station located in Portland. She moved back into Los Angeles four years later as a journalist for KCBS TV. She received 2 Emmy Awards during the six years she spent with this station.
